The band was originally named “Timberline”. After the Seagram 7 contest there was some confusion with another band of the same name. We decided to change the “Timber” to “TImbre” which is a musical term. It didn’t really have the effect we had hoped. Most people tried to pronounce it tim-bree-line while others just thought we couldn’t spell.
They played in New Mexico, Texas, Nevada, Colorado, Tennessee, and Alaska.
It’s a quilted piece about fifteen feet long and five feet high created by Roy’s mother, Eddie Black, with help from wives and girlfriends. It was given to the band as a surprise. It must have been frustrating when we changed the band name but Eddie somehow made it happen.
